I was listening to Yo-Yo Ma's "Beyond the Horizon" and noticed a piece where the turkish singer uses "tahreer"...very interesting how the combination turned out..made me think, is the origin of tahreer Iranian or did it come from elsewhere?

I know the technique of "tehreer" is older than the immigration of Turks in the Abbasid dynasty (750-1258) from east/north of Iran. However, they have developed a very unique and impressive style of tahreer that is very beautiful.
